Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is very happy to present this remarkable 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 in its original colors of Daytona Yellow on black. Z28 was in its second year in 1970, and 1970 introduced the second generation version of it's very popular F-Body series that ran from 1970 through 1981. Flat back windows were replaced with curved versions in 1975, and chrome bumpers as we know them changed forever in 1973 to satisfy tough new government mandates. And, performance numbers dropped rapidly after 1971, due to restrictive emission control requirements. Bottom line? This real-deal '70 Z28 represents the first year of the new body style very well, it's the last of the "good" ones, and man is it a looker!

Outside, the paint is smooth and high quality- beneficiary of a long and loving restoration. Gaps are very good, and brightwork leaves nothing to be desired. Chevrolet Rally wheels never looked better. The car has a great stance that says "don't even think about messing with me" and may even make some shout "Bumble Bee!" a tribute to the Transformers movie car (which was actually a 77 Camaro). A true Transformer in a sense, because this car propels you back to 1970 and makes you look terrific in the process. Inside is like a time warp too, with the restored black vinyl bucket interior. Very nicely done throughout and it is very comfortable. These cars are quite roomy in the front seat areas. The 4-speed Hurst shifter connects to Muncie's preferred M21 close ratio manual transmission, which spins the tough, standard issue 3:73 12-bolt posi rear. GM typically reserved the M21 for cars with gearing above 3:55-1. M21 is superb for this application and 1/4 mile blasts, and easy to rev-match.

Pop the hood on this legend and you'll see the 350 cubic inch "Z28" code small-block boasting 11-1 compression, 360 horsepower, 380 ft. lbs of torque, special cam and carburetor. It looks pretty much like it did when it left the factory, enhanced now by an Edelbrock intake and headers. The VIN prefix and engine suffix are on the block. It has that authoritative, lopy idle that'll put a smile on the even the grumpiest bystander's face. It is a car you can be very proud of for years to come and the envy of every kid and gearhead in your neighborhood. It comes with several restoration photos taken by it's loving owners, as well as the original built sheet- which confirms it left the factory a Z28. This car has a story- Get it before it's gone.
