Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is proud to offer this classic 1961 Willys Wagon. This truck was restored in 2017, and has under 2000 miles on it since it was completed. The body is all steel, and is coated in a glossy premium PPG paint (code JFD). The restoration reportedly included complete disassembly of the body, sandblasting, and restoring, with only a few panels needing replacement. The entire wiring harness was replaced during the restoration, so the electrical system is definitely up to par. It also received a new fuel tank, new fuel lines, and a new Flowmaster exhaust. The drivetrain is from a Toyota truck, and includes a 22R 4-cylinder engine, and 5-speed manual transmission. The differential housings hold 4.10:1 gears. The brakes were upgraded to a power-assisted front disc/rear drum setup, so it stops quite well. Michelen LTX radials (235/75-15) provide a smooth ride and plenty of traction. The A/C blows cold, so the occupants of the cabin will find this vintage ride a pleasurable one. The synthetic leather seats were recovered in Sahara Tan with black trim, and they seem barely used. Seatbelts were added for additional safety. This is a classic vintage ride with modern powertrain updates, safety features, and creature comforts, which combine to provide a well-balanced package that can be used and enjoyed daily.
