Pushing into the mid 50's Dodge had already made a name for themselves having been around since the turn of the century. They were ready to capture more of the market by offering a vehicle that was flexible for commercial use and everyday residential use. In 1954, the Dodge D100 was born and offered in Town Panel and a Town Wagon. The target was to take on Chevrolet's very successful Suburban. These Town variants would see production up until 1966 in the United States. Here we have a '63 Model. The orange paint has seen some use but there is some history behind it, more on that in a few. The black vinyl interior is in good shape, normal signs of use. Under the hood is a 225ci Slant 6 mated to a 4-speed manual transmission with a granny gear. So, about the paint. The current owner has had her for over 2 years, acquired from Johnson Creek Airport in Idaho. The original color was yellow but the airport painted over in their colors to match their fleet of airport trucks and was used as a courtesy shuttle. Johnson Creek is known for being a grass airstrip between 2 mountains and laden with tall pine trees. It is believed that the airport purchased this truck new. It is stated to have all of its original panels. It is titled as a 1963 Dodge Van and is clean and clear and ready to be transferred into your name now!
