Manufacturers were now feeling comfortable again with performance ideas. Toyota wanted to unveil a new car to compete directly with the Datsun Z-Car. Toyota's new car would have to perform and needed a strong name to take them in this new direction. The name Supra was selected because in Latin its meaning can be derived as "to surpass," "above," or "go beyond." Little did they know the legend that this car would become. The Supra would see 4 generations up to 1998 and would not return until 2019 and is still in production today! This is an '88, a mid-3rd generation. The maroon paint is driver quality, she has provided lot of enjoyment on the road with her 118k miles but still has a luster to her. The targa top comes off and give you a nice balance between a coupe and convertible. Inside you'll find maroon cloth interior to match the exterior, it looks great and in good order.
