Cadillac has always been known for leading the way in the American made luxury car market and has done so since its beginning in 1902. Going through somewhat of a slump in the late 90's a brand overhaul was ordered by GM. Feeling that Cadillac had become a car that could only be found in retirement community's they gave Cadillac a serious face lift. The XLR was more than a facelift it was a whole new type of car. The idea and even the execution of a 2-door convertible were not new to Cadillac. They had built them in the past, but a convertible hardtop was unheard of. The new body would be more aggressive and cutting edge than anything Cadillac had done before. This XLR is a great example of Cadillac's modern sports car and with only 15000 being built over an 8-year span these are not easy to come by. The Silver paint is slick and looks great in it's muscular body lines. The 4.6 Northstar V8 is widely regarded as a smooth and powerful engine. With over 300 horsepower this car is no slouch.
