The Beetle has an incredibly deep history dating all the way back until the thirties era! With a team lead by Ferdinand Porsche the "people's car" debuted in 1938. Over the next decade the car became widely known in its home country as the Kfer (German for "Beetle"). With subtle changes over the years across many generations, the Beetle is the longest-running and most manufactured car of a single platform ever made! Here we have a '69 Model, and a Karmann Cabriolet to boot. Karmann Cabriolet's are highly sought after over standard Beetle convertibles as they have better reinforcement to strengthen the body with the loss of the top, along with other nice aesthetics options only available with the Karmann. The VIN for this year & the chassis number does start with "15", which signifies it is indeed a Karmann Cabriolet. The engine is an air-cooled 1600cc H4 attached to a four-speed manual transmission.
