The Camaro was Chevy's answer to Ford's Mustang, but before that came its big brother, the mid-size Chevelle. Lean and muscular, it was soon to become the ultimate expression of the Golden Era of the Muscle Car Wars. This Chevelle has the time tested and Bulletproof Chevy power here with the 396CID V-8 hooked up to a Turbo 400 automatic transmission and stall converter pushing its power through the 12 bolt PosiTrac rear end that is fitted with 3.73 gearing. The engine compartment looks factory even with the upgrades of a QuickFuel carburetor sitting on top of a Weiand intake, Hedman long-tube headers, MSD ignition, heat wrapped spark plug wire ends next to the headers, polished Holley air cleaner and the Moroso valve covers that top off the iconic Chevrolet Big Block! Beautiful Black vinyl bucket seats are separated down the middle by a center console with a B&M shifter making for a very inviting time machine back to the sixties. The car sits on very period correct chrome 15" SS Cragar wheels wrapped nicely in raised white letter Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. The classic 3-spoke wheel sits ahead of new Autometer instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer and 8k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, battery voltage, water temperature and oil pressure. The new five-digit odometer shows 74 miles although the owner states the build has roughly 5,000 miles on it. Don't miss the opportunity to cruise into the show with this rumbling classic muscle car.
