Just as the Les Paul has been a collector-s choice so has the -52 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup. Both equally enjoyable stock or customized with this being the latter. The pearl white nose penetrates through a thin layer of pearl purple before landing to points over the lime dipped body and once again repeating behind the rear wheels. The slight touch of pearled purple in the grill and blacked out headlight bezels say there-s more, keep going. The athletic stance of this pickup has only been enhanced with its chopped roof line and lowered ride height. The running boards look more like an invitation to the bed with its tonneau cover hiding the shinny wood planks. There is no missing the gigantic tires tucked neatly away under the bed, taunting the driver to light --em up. If its reliable power you want the 350 CID V8 under the hood will excite you. This 52' Chevrolet Pickup features an 8' flareside or stepside bed with a stained oak floor. The 52' body sits on a 1977 Chevrolet truck frame with all new bushing, tie rod ends, and ball joints. Powering this 52' Chevy truck is a ZZ4 350 CID V8 engine with chrome valve covers, an Edelbrock carburetor and chrome air cleaner, and a March polished alloy serpentine pulley system. A new radiator and an aluminum housing helps keep the ZZ4 350 engine cool. Hi-Temp, coated headers that run to the SS exhaust and mufflers and combine for a nice smooth rumble out back. A TH-350 automatic transmission transfers the power to the 12 bolt rear end. The exterior is finished in a dark teal blue that contrast the oak bed beautifully. The light beige tweed and vinyl interior shows very well, with no signs of major wear. The dash is adorned with custom VDO gauges and a black Grant GT steering wheel. This beast of a truck is powered by a 400 horsepower 383 stroker small block Chevy. The block is a late 80's with four bolt mains, World stock heads, one piece rear main seal, ARP head and rod bolts, Comp Cam lifters, roller rocker arms and camshaft, Edelbrock RPM intake manifold, Carter carburetor, MSD street fire distributor and Taylor plug wires. Backing up this stout torque monster is a 700R4 and a 10 bolt rear end housing 3. 73:1 Limited Slip. Both the engine and transmission have around 300 miles since the rebuild. Sound comes from tuned headers exiting through a set of stainless steel Magnaflow mufflers. Keeping the front end planted is a Mustang II TCI front end with upper and lower controls and rack & pinion power steering. Slowing down is a breeze thanks to power front disc brakes.
