1952 Willys M38A1

View Description

- Willys was the brand name used by Willys-Overland Motors which is most well known for producing light duty military vehicles as well as civilian -CJ- vehicles. From 1952 to 1957 it was purchased specifically by the U. S. military, and thereafter by the U. S. Marine Corps and exported to foreign governments until the end of production in 1971. Willy-Overland eventually merged with Kaiser to form Kaiser-Jeep which eventually became the brand we know today as simply -Jeep. - This M38A1 / MD version was the first of the Willys Jeep to feature the round fender and hood design, which would later become the distinctive body style of the 1955 CJ-5, and which was carried through the CJ-6, CJ-7, and CJ-8.

1952 Willys Jeep

View Description

Just 60,000 of these M38 Jeeps were manufactured between 1949 and 1952 they are becoming a rare find in this kind of original condition. This Jeep comes in its military green exterior color with a matching green interior. The powertrain on this 1952 Willys Jeep for sale is a 134 CID Inline-4 backed by a 3-speed manual transmission. The ruggedness and utility of these vehicles is apparent immediately- this is a 1/4 ton, 4X4 vehicle that has a reinforced frame and suspension and uses a waterproof 24-volt electrical and ignition system that gives the driver dependability in challenging situations. Similarly, the entire air intake and axle system is fully vented to allow for operation while submerged under water. You are reminded that this was a war Machine too: the windshield folds down to make it easy to fire a gun. Imagine what you could do with a M38 Jeep like this! Personally,...

1952 Willys Jeep

The current owner purchased this Willys out of Waco Texas about 7 years ago. Walking around this 50's Jeep one should notice the gloss yellow paint. Adding to the curb appeal are 15' polished hubcaps wrapped in Good Year Wrangler white letter radial tires, spare tire with white wall tire, tow hitch, spare fuel can that is mounted down, opening rear tailgate, chrome mirror, and removable soft doors with bikini top. The interior is simplistic on this Jeep, sporting black vinyl seats, military green seat belts, an AM radio, shifter on the floor, and even a single windshield wiper. This 4x4 Jeep really gives you the 50's feel and is ready to be enjoyed. Powering this '52 is claimed to be an L-head 134 CID Flat Inline 4-cylinder engine that is mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. The odometer reads just over 14k undocumented miles.
