1962 Plymouth Sport Fury

View Description

Upon first look at this beautiful red coupe, it appears to be a very nice, sporty, and fun ride. All of that is correct, but when you turn over the beast hiding under the hood, you feel the monster come alive and realize it is the wolf in sheep's clothing. The 440 cubic inch Max Wedge has been bored and stroked to 540 cubic inches. New camshaft and lifters have been installed, and it breaths out of 3-inch stainless steel exhaust. The feel of the idle in the seat brings a smile to your face, and when you mash the accelerator pedal you are pushed back into the seat. Hang on, this is an exhilarating ride! The 1962 Sport Fury is riding...

1962 Plymouth Fury

View Description

This 1962 Plymouth Fury is second to none on the road and was actually used in the movie Flipped in 2009. This beast has a monstrous and very powerful 440cid V8 paired to a 727 push-button 3-Speed Automatic that translates power to a 3. 55 gear ratio. This is the recipe for a street dominating Mopar that you can actually drive to the track. The 440 has been beefed up to make sure that there is more than enough power for your right foot to handle. Stopping power is there courtesy the front power disc brakes. Behind the wheel of this Savoy is where the magic happens, and you feel in control with the power steering and power brakes. The gauge layout is very legible and easily visible when you-ve got your foot planted to the ground to ensure all functions are working as they should. Arguably one of the prettiest -ugly car- of its era,...

1962 Plymouth Fury

View Description

The word 'fury' denotes a type of anger, inspired by the Furies, mythological creatures in Ancient Greek and Ancient Roman mythology. This car has been owned for the last 21 years and part of that time was an 8 year build. The engine and transmission was rebuilt about 9 years ago. Other notable details are a new gas tank, full polyliner between each rear leafsprings, oak laminated arm rest, oak laminated upper and lower dash center. There are restoration photos on file for this Fury. 1962 Plymouths measured seven inches shorter and up to 400 pounds lighter than the 1961s. Part of that weight-savings came from a switch to full unibody construction, without the front sub frame of 1960-1961, which made for uncommonly tight, solid cars better able to exploit the fine handling of Chrysler-s torsion-bar front suspension. The Fury range continued to offer the sedan, hardtops, convertible and wagons, and the...
