1963 Oldsmobile Cutlass

View Description

Oldsmobile had won a reputation for itself at General Motors by leading the way in engineering breakthroughs, such as Hydra-Matric automatic transmission, first seen on the 1940 models, and the modern high compression Rocket V-8 engine that debuted in 1949. Debuting for 1961 the F85 Cutlass was marketed as one of GM's upscale 'senior' compacts. Related to the Buick Special and Pontiac Tempest, it was built on a highly innovative for it's day unibody frame. This 63 convertible is quite a looker dressed in a stunning shade of blue with white roof. As you walk around the vehicle you'll notice nice details like the front end bright work and intact trim pieces. Take a seat inside and your'e greeted to a spacious and well appointed cabin. Eye catching blue vinyl really makes the interior pop and the gauges are set up well for driving. Under the hood is Oldsmobile's all-aluminum, 215 cubic inch 'Rockette' V-8....

1963 Oldsmobile Cutlass

View Description

Oldsmobile had won a reputation for itself at General Motors by leading the way in engineering breakthroughs, such as Hydra-Matric automatic transmission, first seen on the 1940 models, and the modern high compression Rocket ohv V-8 engine that debuted in 1949. Both were at the leading edge of the swing toward driving ease and abundant power that arose in the 1950s and showed no signs of abating anytime soon. The platform for this power plant was Oldsmobile's unibodies F85 for sale, introduced for 1961 as one of GM's upscale 'senior' compacts. Related to the Buick Special and Pontiac Tempest, it equipped with an all-aluminum, 215-cid 'Rockette' V-8. Boasting a hearty 185hp and spinning with a compression ratio of 10. 25:1 this was one advanced engine for the time. Backed by Oldsmobile's famous 3-speed turbo-hydromantic transmission it makes for the perfect cruiser combo. It does have 6,000 miles on it since the rebuild. The car was traced back to an Arizona car and didn't need much on the restoration, so a gorgeous shade of cream was laid on the car and finished out with all its original trim and chrome. The interior is an also a supple shade of rich cream and...

1963 Oldsmobile Cutlass

Powering this 63- Cutlass is a 3. 8L Turbocharged V6 engine that was donated from a 1985 Buick Grand National. Yes, you heard that correct, one of the most sought-after engines from the 80-s is powering this little Olds. These 3. 8L Turbo engines are just plain fun to drive. An automatic transmission transfers the power to the rear end and to the pavement. 1963 Oldsmobile Cutlass

View Description

By 1961, Ford was selling half a million Falcons, and Chevrolet was turning out 300,000, rear-engined, air-cooled, VW-fighting Corvairs. Rambler, which had essentially invented the American compact car, came in third place with 220,000 Classics. Oldsmobile wanted in on the act, and its entry was the F85, the base of the Cutlass line. It was a smartly styled, high-compression V-8.

The F85 represents a truly unique choice in this segment of 1960s automobiles. They were never built in the huge numbers of the Falcon--just 121,483 units in 1963--so they're a standout at any car show or cruise night. And unlike the bulk of the cars it competed against, F85S were all V-8 powered, featuring an all-aluminum block from Buick, but with Oldsmobile's own heads with wedge-shaped combustion chambers. At just 215-cu. in. , it's no big-block, but thanks to sky-high 10. 75:1 compression, the little engine develops 195hp at 4,800 RPM. With just 2,700 pounds to push around, F85S offer performance unlike anything you'll find out of a Falcon or a Rambler Classic.

Our very cool, white exterior F85, with newer white convertible top features a striking red leather interior! She looks like a very early version of a muscle car...
