These original E-Series flat nose trucks were only built from 1961 to 1967. The Econoline Pickup was a 2 door variation of the 1st Generation Ford and Mercury Econoline 3-dr vans. Unlike VW and Chevy; Ford placed the engine between and behind the front seats. In the first year of production 15,000 pickups were made and sold. Its early success led to adoption from competitors including the classic Dodge A100 van and pickup models. This particular was originally used by the U. S. Air force.
