1966 Oldsmobile 442
View Description
Oldsmobile threw its hat in the supercar arena with the introduction of the 4-4-2 in the spring of 1964. Two years later, the 4-4-2 received a serious performance upgrade in the form of the W30 package introduced for NHRA competition. While this is not one of the 54 W30 cars produced, this Olds still packs a punch with Track-Pac upgrade. What does that mean? Well, sit back and we-ll tell ya! This 4-4-2, wearing a magnificent Autumn Bronze metallic paint, boasts the handsome 1966 restyling of the famed muscle car and contains an incredible feature under the hood! Gaze upon the spotless bay and take note of the 400 engine that calls this space home. But wait, this Olds offers the legendary Track Pac, an over-the-counter Tri-Carb conversion kit that boosted power from 350 to 360 horsepower! Fitted upon the L-69 engine is a trio of open-element individual air cleaners which were shared by its cousin, the Pontiac GTO! Unlike the GTO, the 1966 Track-Pac 4-4-2 utilized a mechanical linkage that eliminated the lag time of the two outer carburetor openings which was common in the vacuum assisted setups on Pontiac-s flagship performance car.
