1970 Oldsmobile 442

View Description

Wow what a car! 1970 was just about the pinnacle of performance as far as muscle cars went and this Olds 'W-Machine' was no exception. A period-correct 455 CID big block 'Rocket V8' that made around 370hp and a monstrous 510 lb ft of torque from the factory is planted under the fiberglass hood of this car, which features a functional air scoops and a low restriction air cleaner. This hood was 18lbs lighter than the steel version and the engine included an aluminum intake which shed even more weight. The W30 package added other visible performance parts too such as the numbers-matching Turbo Hydra-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission with the Hurst dual-gate shifter. The drive train itself was completely rebuilt on this car in 2014 with around 1,500 miles driven since. The red-front inner fenders are a dead W30 giveaway, as well as factory power front disc brakes. This 442 Olds is painted in Gold Nugget and comes with a matching gold vinyl interior with bucket seats. The owner of this W30 car has performed some thoughtful upgrades while keeping the important parts correct or original. These...

1970 Oldsmobile 442

View Description

The 4-4-2 name derives from the original set up of the first car that debuted in 1964. The set up was just that a 4 barrel carb, 4 speed transmission and dual exhaust. Pretty much everything desired on your first generation muscle cars. Some people, even to this day, think that 442 is the cubic displacement of the motor but in all reality Oldsmobile never made a 442 CID motor. This numbers matching car is powered by a 455 CID Rocket Engine, paired with a Turbo Hydro 3 speed automatic with a Hurst dual gate shifter. This cars beautiful engine has been rebuilt in 2018. It's painted blue with Black stripes on the OAI hood, Black convertible top, and Black vinyl interior. Options on this...

1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass

View Description

In a world where gas costs under 40 cents and epa regulations were almost non existent, it was only natural that muscle cars would become the hottest cars in the late 60-s and early 70-s. This brought us gems like the Pontiac GTO, Chevelle SS, Plymouth Barracuda, and others, but one stood out from the pack.

For sale in our Fort Lauderdale showroom is one of the most iconic muscle cars of all time: the Oldsmobile Cutlass 442. The name 442 comes from the fact that the car has a four-barrel carburetor, 4-speed manual transmission, and dual exhausts. The 442 became its own model, rather than an option on the Cutlass, from 1968 to 1971. In order to keep pace with the large, high- horsepower engines coming from the competition, Oldsmobile fired back with their answer. This was the 455 CID engine putting out 365 horsepower. This particular 442 has that same potent 455/365 engine. Saying this car has some power is an understatement. Proving its performance, the 1970 442 was the official pace car at the Indianapolis 500 race.

This 442 is absolutely gorgeous under sunlight. The white interior pops against the gold...

Gateway Classic Cars of Atlanta is excited to offer this 1970 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible. This fine example has been with the same owner since 1986 and was restored in 2003. The consignor states her to be a numbers matching 442. She is powered by a 455 cu in V8, mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. The engine had a top end rebuild, and brought back to factory specs. This 442 is painted in a Silver, with Black stripes, Black convertible top, and Black vinyl interior. The fit, finish, and the paint are very well done, and the majority of the trim is in very good condition, and she just gleams in the sunlight! She was gifted with a new convertible top, and there's nothing like a new back window on a convertible! Step inside and the interior appears to be original, showing average wear and patina on the seats and console. Hence the statement of partial restoration - as anyone who's been through it - knows it becomes the 'money pit'. That's why it's always better to buy one already done! Despite this 442's age it drives like an absolute dream at slow speed...
