An elegant beauty that was so tastefully designed, that it has become an icon in the automotive world. Lincoln was born in 1917 as Fords luxury brand competing directly with Cadillac for market share in the personal luxury car segment. In 1959 the Continental was integrated into the Lincoln line up with the Continental Mark series beginning production in 1968. The 'Mark' was marketed as a two-door model only in response to the rival Cadillac Eldorado. Lincoln debuted the new 460 cubic inch V-8 along with the first Ford vehicle to be produced with anti-lock brakes in the 1968 Mark III.
