The year 1982, the makers of the C3 decided to have the body style go out with a bang by featuring the first year of the L83 Crossfire Injection engine offered exclusively in the Corvette as a 350 cubic inch V8. The drivetrain setup also featured a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with electronic overdrive, showing a consistent pattern that the Corvette was a sports car ahead of its time.
