1983 GMC Caballero

View Description

The GMC Sprint was introduced in 1971 as twin to Chevy's El Camino. The Sprint was renamed to Caballero in 1978 and would see production until 1987. Caballero is Spanish for 'Horseman or Knight' but translates to English as 'Gentleman. ' The El Camino and Caballero were in heated competition with Ford's Rachero for many years. When all this utility vehicles were discontinued it left a hole in the market. Many attempts have been made to revive platforms, but the closest revival would be GM's Australian brand, Holden, with their Ute. Here we have a '83 Caballero and wow does it make a statement. Extra funds were spent to continue the colors into the inner bed which is rarely done. The blue and black leather/vinyl combo interior certainly complements the exterior and is in great order. Under the hood is the a rebuilt 5. 7L 350ci V8 backed by a turbo 350 3-speed automatic transmission. Current owner has had her for over 39 years making her a 1-owner...

This Caballero is powered by a 350 CID V8; which, combined with its 3-speed automatic transmission, will zip you down the road with ease, especially since the 350 has been topped with an Edelbrock 4BBL carb and aluminum intake. The little Ute also features a nice spray-in bed liner, which makes for a nice work vehicle if it's ever needed to haul stuff that would damage a regular painted bed. Inside, you'll notice the Dakota Digital 'Ana/Digi' electronic analog dash, which is a nice upgrade from the original GM gauge cluster; along with fresh black synthetic leather seating, black carpeting, and the AM/FM/CD head unit. The...
