Honoring the last Land Rover Defenders to come off of the line in 2016, this is a special recreation of the Land Rover Defender 110 Heritage Edition. A complete frame off restoration was completed in Cape Town, South Africa and was then shipped to Atlanta via the Charleston, South Carolina port in 2017. Additional modifications were added stateside to enhance the build even further. Traditionalists will appreciate the Grasmere Green exterior, carried though to the headlamp surroundings, wheel arches, heavy-duty steel wheels, and factory sourced original Heritage Edition grille. Other Heritage Edition installations include the Alaska White roof, silver front bumper, clear indicator lenses and Indus Silver door hinges. The interior features Almond Resolve cloth upholstery with Ebony Vinyl sides and backs. With a touch of modern convenience and comfort, air conditioning was added, along with a digital Pioneer 6. 5' DVD AV receiver stereo system with integrated backup camera. This Colombia born Toyota was a ranch vehicle before it was restored in 2016. It underwent a frame off restoration after it was picked up in Colombia and I must tell you this truck is stunning. This two owner Toyota FJ43 was repainted to the original Toyota code 464 beige that is printed on the data plate. Sandblasted chassis and axle housings followed by electrostatic primer and paint for chassis, transmission housings, drive shafts, rear drums, under-body protections, leaf springs, starter, air filter housing, brake booster, license plate brackets, leaf springs, and other misc. parts. The paint used was PPG, two-coat process with clear and complete re-zinc plated hardware. Toyota made a handful of 1984-s outside of the US in the FJ40 and FJ43 wheelbases. Personally, this is one of only 2 I have ever seen listed. The -luxury dash- you see was only made by Toyota late-1982 through this 1984 year, so those parts are also very rare. The 40 series proved so successful, as a testament to its ruggedness, reliability, and high quality Japanese engineering, that in time it became the vehicle of choice for off road dependability. The vehicles were available in both diesel (BJ) and petrol (FJ) models, but ultimately the diesel proved more popular, with its low rev torque delivery, better economy, and superior capability to run in all weather conditions.
