In fact, nearly 475,000 first-generation RX-7s were produced with some 80% sold in the US alone. For the gen-two 'FC' RX-7, which ran from 1985-to 1992, Mazda completely restyled the exterior to reflect successful American market vehicles like the Porsche 928.
