The IROC-Z Z model of the Chevrolet Camaro first made its public appearance in 1985 as an add on option to the 1985 Camaro Z28 model. But its origin began long before that. IROC-Z stands for International Race of Champions which is an automobile racing series like what NASCAR is. Started in 1974 with race prepared Porsches the series switched to Camaros in 1975. The Camaro continued as the car of choice for the IROC-Z series until 1991. In 1985 Chevrolet licensed the IROC-Z nameplate to use on production Camaros. The result was one of the most popular Camaros that Chevrolet had made in years. This Camaro is Red on the outside and is complemented by a black leather interior.
