1989 Mazda RX7

View Description

This sharp RX-7 looks great in red with two coats of ceramic, the charcoal interior works great as a contrast. The RX-7 utilizes the Wankel, or rotary engine. Where conventional engine has pistons that slide up then down in the cylinders, the rotary engine has two spinning rotors and a total of 3 moving parts! No valves, camshaft, lifters or timing chains. These power plants are very efficient and from the factory made 160 Horsepower with just 1. 3 liters of displacement. Mazdas from this era are famous for the 'Rotary' engines and this car has the naturally aspirated 13B 2-rotor Wankel with a displacement of 1. 3l and a factory power output of 160hp. A 4-speed automatic transmission accompanies this example, which was an option for RX-7 convertibles. Both engine and transmission on this vehicle have been rebuilt recently and everything is operating very well. Almost any Japanese car from this era gets interesting once you get inside. The orange on black gauges, rotary headlight switches, busy audio controls and sporty Black leather bucket seats give this Mazda...
