1999 introduced a new body style for the Mustang referred to as the 'New Edge'. This more angular shape used the same platform as the previous generation but updated the styling quite a bit. The highest trim level available was the Cobra SVT Cobra. Ford's 'Special Vehicle Team' took run of the mill Ford models and souped them up to factory performance vehicles. In this case they took a basic Mustang and dropped in a hand built 320 HP 4. 6 Liter 32 Valve V8. Each engine graced with the signature of its builder whom assembled the engine in the Romeo Michigan plant. This thumping V8 was backed by a standard 5 speed manual transmission which delivered power to the rear wheels. The recipe was a success and the result was a fun to drive, powerful, great looking car that came with a factory warranty.
