This is a well optioned well cared for Z/28 with only 46,503 original miles on the odometer. The car was optioned beautifully from the factory with white exterior and contrasting orange racing stripes. It had been over a decade since the Ford Mustang was chosen to pace the Indianapolis 500 and in 1979, Ford debuted this special car to take on that exclusive duty. Formula 1 Champion Jackie Stewart piloted the pace car for the start of the 500, while 1960 Indy 500 Champ Jim Rathmann took over during caution periods throughout the race.
