It represents American middle class postwar prosperity, and is a rare example of a car with styling that was exactly in line with contemporary fashion and design.

The 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air was just the right mix of style, performance and had an appealing price tag. It was a huge hit in showrooms, and was even a much bigger technical achievement than it usually gets credit for.

She is powered by an amazing period correct 409 CI V8 mated to a 4-speed Muncie transmission with Hurst shifter and Ford 9-inch rear end with 3:63 gears and POSI traction strange axles and 3rd member. It features a steel crank, H Beam connecting rods, ratio pistons, Daky solid state lifter cam, Edelbrock Aluminum Heads, Intake Manifold and 750 CFM Carburetor, MSD ignition, completely balanced with little run time on the build. It has a SFI steel flywheel, a Ram Clutch, and steel scatter shield bell housing. It has 11-inch rear brake drums and new front and rear suspension components, rear adjustable shocks, front slotted disc brakes, new gas tank, new heavy-duty drive shaft. The paint is a sharp White, that shows very well - and the color-coded steel wheels lets you know there is something sinister under the hood!
