The 55 Chevy Bel-Air is arguably one of the best-looking cars ever built. There clean lines and finless design make them great candidates for full on custom builds. Art Morrison started out building frames for tubbed out drag cars in the 70-s and 80-s but the company really took off when he began building his line of pro-touring chassis-. This 55 is sitting on one of his custom-built frames which not only looks good but increases the handling of the car dramatically. Finished off in the same Erica red paint as the body making the transition from floor pan to frame almost seamless. With touches of chrome here and there to break it up you can tell this was a well thought out build. The stance of the car was also dramatically changed due to the chassis as well with it sitting much lower than a stock 55. The 396 cu in (6. 49 L) engine was replaced with the 350 cu in (5. 7 L) in the SS model. 1971 also saw the introduction of the Rally Nova, a trim level that only lasted two years (until it resurfaced in 1977). The Rally kit included black or white stripes that ran the length of the car and around the back, a Rally Nova sticker on the driver's side of the hood, Rally wheels, multi-leaf rear springs, and a 'sport' body colored driver's side mirror that was adjustable from the interior. This generation of Corvette was the first to feature T-top removable roof panels. 1977 was the last year the tunneled roof treatment with vertical back window was used, also the first time leather seats were available at no extra cost. Chevrolet remodeled the Corvette in 1977 with a new -Corvette flag- emblems on the front end and fender as well as a new interior console and gauges. This particular Corvette is equipped with a 350 C. I. D V8 crate engine sporting a massive 300 horsepower along with a 3 speed auto transmission.
