1982 was the final year of the C3 Corvette. So, GM sent it off with a bang. Enter the Collector's Edition Corvette. It features special paint, interior, the first opening rear hatch on a Corvette and bespoke wheels. The option list was extensive, with nearly everything being standard. Under the hood was the controversial Cross-Fire fuel injection 350-cid V-8 which used twin throttle-bodys and computerized metering for 200hp. Its unique Silver-Beige metallic paint was accented by pin stripes and a 'fading shadow' treatment on hood, fenders, and doors plus distinctive cloisonne emblems. The car rode on special finned wheels and has solar screened, bronze tinted T-tops. Inside was a matching Silver-Beige metallic interior with multi-tone leather seats and door trim. Additionally, the Collector Edition's hand-sewn leather-wrapped steering wheel kept the theme color and its leather-covered horn button had a cloisonne emblem.
