Many will consider '70s the beginning of the end for horsepower wars. With unleaded gas becoming the standard and smog regulation's tightening, there were an increasing number of hurdles for the big three to jump through. Chevy had their engineers working on how they were going to meet the demands of Uncle Sam and still get the muscle that Corvette was known for. The 350 SBC is still rated at a respectable 270 hp and is backed up by a 4-speed manual transmission that transfers the power to the rear wheels. Take out the T-tops out and you will be ready to cruise on that next spring day. The T-tops can be easily re-installed with ease, just in case the sunshine doesn-t last as long as it should.
