This Master 85 was one of only 41,770 manufactured in 1939, and with a 'Body by Fisher', the Chevrolet marketing emphasis was on an affordable car with styling and performance. While retaining some styling like earlier models, the '39 model had a longer hood, a sharply rounded grill and two smaller air intakes making this model one that is desired by the top car collections world-wide. Under the gull-wing hood sits a 350CID V-8 with a Edelbrock carburetor and dual electric fans and is mounted to a smooth shifting 700R4 automatic transmission. The suspension has been updated to handle the added power of the V-8 with a Mustang II front end, front disc brakes and a Ford 9' rear end.
