1959 - 1961 Parkwoods were six-passenger models, whereas the Kingswood (Chevrolet's other Bel Air equivalent during those two years), had seating for nine. The Parkwood became available in both passenger configurations for 1961, when the Kingswood name was dropped. The Parkwood name was also dropped for 1962, when all Chevrolet station wagons began sharing series names with their passenger-car line mates. Throughout its three-year production run, the Parkwood was available with either a six-cylinder or V8 engine. This bright white Parkwood is true time capsule. Recently brought out of storage, this Chevrolet still sports the original drive train, a 283 CID V8 equipped with a factory 2 barrel carburetor. The engine is back by a cast iron case 2-speed automatic -powerglide-. The only visible change under the hood is the generator has been replaced with an alternator. Inside the interior is all original. It does show wear, but the clear plastic covers will prevent further damage and it will bring back memories of going to that Aunt-s house, that had all the furniture covered in plastic, to keep us little heathens from messing it up.
