This stunning one owner accident free truck was purchased new on August 13th, 1968 from Capitol Chevrolet here in Denver, Colorado. Before the owner took delivery, he had the dealer cover the factory carpet in clear plastic. That plastic has been there ever since preserving the original carpet. The owner dropped a camper in the bed, loaded up the family and hit the road looking for adventure.

In 1970 dual saddle tanks were installed to promote longer distances between fill ups when driving cross country with the family.

In 1985 dual exhaust was installed to help that big 396cid engine breathe and improve the sound.

In 1990 a 4:11 ratio rear end was installed as well as the driver seat re-upholstered.

All Chevy's from 1932 forward had boasted the long-lived and reliable 'Blue Flame' six engine and amongst its available models the longer wheel base versions of the 'Master' line, known as the 'Deluxe' versions were the most desirable. This was a classic prewar Chevy and well proportioned and solidly built. The top-of-the-line model was known as the 'Special Deluxe' and it was a much fancier and upscale edition of the 'Master Deluxe' and which today commands the attention of serious collectors and enthusiasts everywhere. Stainless steel moldings trimmed the hood and body belt line and standard equipment included a 30-hour clock, front door armrests, a right-hand windshield wiper, twin air horns, and a deluxe steering wheel with horn ring. The convertible had a full-width rear seat and power-operated top and a choice of different colors of upholstery and convertible tops were offered for the first time by Chevrolet. Interiors were richly appointed in a cloth fabric and with leather in the convertible with thick seat padding for extra comfort.
