When the truck was sold, it was transported to its new home in Eugene, Oregon where it started a restoration over the next several years. In 1981, the original 216 cubic inch was swapped out for a 235 cubic inch Inline-6 for added power and reliability. After a few years the engine was rebuilt in 1987 and the odometer was rolled back to zero to keep track of how many miles were put on the rebuilt engine.
