Originally a concept vehicle, the Dodge Warlock entered production in late 1976, reappearing in limited numbers in 1977 through 1979. One of only 500 Warlocks built in 1977, Its owner states that it is an original 1977 Dodge 440 Warlock, having been verified prior to the start of the restoration process by Skipp Gibbs, who -wrote the book about Warlocks-. Not only is it 1 of 500, it is likely rarer than that. This Warlock is also one of the (rumored to be) only 74 units of 440 Warlocks that were built; and it-s probably 1 of an even smaller number, since it is also an original 4WD Warlock (which were a minority of the 440 Warlocks built). Originally, the 4WD Warlocks used a fulltime-only setup; but the transfer case in this one was converted to allow the use of 2WD, and now has new Warn manual locking hubs up front.

During the restoration, it was completely disassembled, each body panel was media blasted, epoxy primed, painted, color sanded and buffed. In 1976, Dodge came out with the Warlock as a way to drum up interest in their line of trucks to be used as personal vehicles rather than just work trucks. The Warlock was only around a short period as they killed production in 1979. Many years later, the truck became highly sought after but unfortunately there aren\'t too many around. Dodge gave the truck a wood lined Stepside bed, gold pin striping, and bucket seats. This rare truck is powered by a rebuilt 360 CID V8 with a mild cam and 4 barrel 650 Demon carburetor. A D150 Warlock was part of Dodge-s Adult Toys line in the late 1970-s. The Warlock was produced from 1976 to 1979, limited production in 76- and regular production from 77- to 79-. The Warlock is similar to the Lil- Red Express trucks with the exception that they were black in color, and available with a 4X4 drivetrain. This 4X2 Warlock was repainted about 15 years ago, and has been well cared for since, as the paint and body are in wonderful condition. The black vinyl interior is also shows well, with minimal signs of age and wear. Powering this 78- Warlock is a 318 CID V8 with aluminum valve covers and an Edelbrock chrome air cleaner and carburetor. A 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission transfers the power to the 9 1/4 rear end that houses 3. 92 gears.
