In 1990, an extremely limited run of Deep Emerald Green over white LX 5. 0 Convertibles were designed for a 7UP soda contest. Though the contest was cancelled, someone at Ford decided the color combination looked good enough to put into production. So, Ford authorized a limited run of 5,000 special edition examples. At the time, this understated color combination was also quite unique, as green was just regaining some popularity for cars in North America. Now available in our Dallas-Showroom is this luxurious 1972 Ford LTD. LTD-s are great mixture of luxury, comfort, & power, which was the goal when introduced by Ford all the way back in 1965. This is because it has enough room to seat 5-6 comfortably, yet still enough power to zip around. 1972 models were virtually the same as the '71s, although the bumper now stretched across the lower section of the grille. A new rear bumper integrated the taillights; also, in the rear, the design of the trunk lid was squared off. Due to decreased demand in the segment, 1972 was the final model year for the LTD convertible. The F250 was Fords workhorse of the bunch. Built for the working class and used primarily as work/fleet vehicles and there are not many of these 5th generation 3/4 ton trucks left. This example is a 3-owner truck with most of its life spent as an electrician's work truck, and still has the utility cap and bed mat. The consignor bought in 2000, and had the top end of the 362 V-8 rebuilt, utilizing new guides and seals. She still has the 3 on the tree manual transmission, showing 182,830-miles. This is what we call a true survivor, and is still in the original paint and hub caps, as well as the original tailgate that's been off while she has the cap on.
