Ragtop lovers flocked to Ford showrooms in 1955. They took home 49,966 1955 Ford Fairlane Sunliner Convertible Coupes. Only Chevy came remotely close with about 41,000 soft-top sales. Dramatically new sheet metal and a trendy wraparound windshield draped the carryover 115. 5-inch-wheelbase chassis. A concave checkerboard grille, Fairlane 'checkmark' bodyside trim, and large 'Jet-Tube' taillights completed the look in '55. This gorgeous classic car screams of the '50s. We're pretty sure you can hear the Happy Days theme song if you listen closely.
The Sunliner is powered by its original, numbers matching 292 CID V8 and Cruise-O-Matic transmission. The drive train has been recently rebuilt and now has just 3,500 miles! The car features a new top, lift cylinders, heater core, gas tank, alternator, rear air shocks, and front suspension. The exterior of the car is painted in a great looking red paint which glares and is highlighted by lots of chrome!
