Ford only offered the Skyliner from 1957 to 1959 making this car a rare and collectable find. From 1957-1958 The Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner was produced. In 1959 right before the starting of the Skyliner production, Ford changed the name to The Ford Galaxie Skyliner. This particular vehicle was produced August 4th, 1959 which would classify it as a 'Galaxie Skyliner'. The retractable hardtop option or 'Hide-Away Hardtop' was unique to Ford branded products and was not offered on any of the other Ford Motor Company brands like Lincoln, Mercury, or Edsel.
