Following the popular Hot Rod trend of the glory days, this Maverick has been built Ford Tough with a 302 CID V8 engine and is mated to a C6 automatic transmission. The Ford power goes through a rock-solid Ford 9-inch rear end. Other goodies include Front disc brakes and long tube headers. There is only about 20 miles on the rebuild of this Maverick. This is one of those cars that really does look as good in person as it does in the pictures. With all of its lines as crisp and clean as they were when it rolled off the assembly lines, straight body panels and well-aligned fitment gaps, this Ford Race Red Maverick could pass for new. except for the fact that it's sporting Weld Racing aluminum wheels wrapped in skinnies up front, and meaty Mickey Thompson ET Street Drag Radials out back. and, oh, that custom full roll cage inside is a little hard to miss, along with the massive hood scoop.

Those things should give you visual clues that this car is built for the strip, but if that's not enough, just open the hood. The engine is a Duras Racing-built 410 stroker, complete with an electric water pump, forged 14:1 pistons, Eagle Rods, ported and polished Canfield aluminum heads with hardened valves, roller cam and lifters, and topped with a Woodruff Carbs-built Holley 4BBL sitting atop the Edelbrock Victor Jr high-rise intake manifold. Altogether, this mill is pushing over 600 horsepower to the B&M-shifted Performance Auto C4 transmission, which has a 4500RPM Stall Converter and a trans brake.
