With an average of just over 2800 miles annually this 2 owner truck has been treated very well. The suspension was tuned for what is claimed to be a more balanced ride and better handling, and a dual Borla exhaust with polished SST tips help make this beast roar. 1949 Ford F1
View Description
The all new F1 was introduced in 1948 & was built as a larger truck with more cabin space than Fords previous models. The public was looking for a new type of truck that was still utilitarian but provided daily driver comforts. The F1 series was also, at the time, the first Ford pickup to use its own specific frame. This particular 1949 body is said to have been removed from the frame for an extensive custom build that included new interior and exterior touches. The drivetrain is the major highlight of this build. The factory 100hp 239CID V-8 has been removed and in its place is a rebuilt High Performance 302CID V-8 mated to a 4-Speed with overdrive AOD automatic transmission. This is definitely not your Grandpa's old pickup! To help keep the power under control is power steering, 4-wheel disc brakes and QA1 adjustable coil overs in all 4 corners. The motor has been touched up with accessories that include a QuickFuel carburetor, polished valve covers and air cleaner, MSD ignition, long tube headers, Edelbrock Performer intake and a BeCool aluminum radiator with two electric fans help keep this motor cool. The wheels are U. S. Mags 'Rambler's in...

1951 Ford F1
View Description
This truck is a one of a kind build with a one of a kind story. Built with funding from dozens of donations and the vision of a boy with a dream, this hotrod came to life in a big way. Many people and teams that came together to lend a hand on this build and the outcome is fantastic. Washtenaw Community College took on most of the challenge and had help from the Ford Motor Company's prototype division to supply the drivetrain.
Whats under the hood is a long story by itself but we will highlight a few of the major details. The engine was built by Ford Motor Company's prototype division and is an absolute monster. Originally, Ford used this engine and rear end in a Crown Victoria police interceptor to run the Cannon ball 'Lap of America'. It is a 4. 6L 4 valve Cobra engine with a kenne-Bell supercharger. While the prototype division of Ford wont release detailed build information on this truck, it is said to be pumping out over 600 horsepower.
Washtenaw college nailed it with the fit and finish of the bodywork. Everyone knows that black paint shows every flaw but these builders weren't...
