View Description

Automobilia history is right here. The Suburban nameplate is one of the most contiguous models in vehicle history, and for General Motors one of the most profitable.

In this business you see a lot of cars. Here we like everything, but once in awhile something that really strikes a nerve comes along and steals our attention in a big way. Here is a vehicle that has been properly and economically restored with tasteful modern upgrades. For starters the engine is a late-model 5. 3 LS engine that has the traditional fuel injection taken off and a 4-barrel carburetor affixed instead. The engine is said to have less than 10,000 on it prior to installation. While this is not a first, it is certainly a nice touch. You get the reliability and modern performance of the LS engine family, but the look and feel of a classic carburetor.

The transmission is a 5 speed manual spinning a 4. 10:1 rear end gear. The combination makes this Carryall-Suburban get up and around very nicely. This could be a family grocery getter, roll-race, car show queen, or even your next work truck!...

After the war people were lined up waiting for General motors to start rolling out the new pickup line. That featured a new, larger windshield, bigger side and rear window glass, and optional rear-quarter windows vastly improved safety and drivability. Higher and wider cab doors made entry and exit easier. Another new feature, which further contributed to driver comfort and safety, was a fresh-air heater/defroster system, which brought fresh outside air into the cab and forced used air out through vents at the rear of the cab.

This History on Suburban's can be dated back to the start of their production back in 1935. As it stands today at the longest continuous use Automobile nameplate in production and has traditional been one of General Motors' most profitable vehicle. The design of these Suburban's would be use for years to come and would go on to inspire the design of the Chevrolet HHR over half a century later. This stunning Suburban is powered by a 228 CID inline...
