The Hillman Minx was a British built midsized family car manufactured from 1931- 1970. Many versions of the Minx were built over the period as well as variants sold under the Humber, Singer and Sunbeam nameplates. Models included two-doors, four-doors and convertible variations. Hillman Minx had its greatest sales volume for year to year production from the 1950s to mid- 1960's. During this period, the Minx models were identified as the Audax Series I to a Series V. Each series consisted of annual facelifts. Our 1959 Hillman Minx convertible is an Audax Series IIIA. The Audax body was designed by the Rootes Group of Great Britain. Baby blue paint with two-tone blue interior and a white convertible top set this Minx on the must want list. Powered by a 1494cm/ 91. 2 cubic inch engine which is attached to a manual four-speed gearbox. A Sunbeam Alpine head has been added to increase horsepower.
