This Bel Air hardtop is one of the most well-engineered of the 'Tri-Five' family that we've had the pleasure of listing. Of course, the first thing one notices is the beautiful Cadillac White Diamond over Sunburst Orange Metallic paint scheme, the super shiny brightwork, and the uniform shut lines on the doors, hood, and trunk. However, the fun part is what's underneath the pretty part! The foundation begins with a powder coated Newman Car Creations custom '56 Chevy 2 door hardtop frame and suspension package, with a complete Corvette front and rear suspension ('85-'87 components); including aluminum control arms, new Bilstein shocks, new bump stop rubbers, steel brake lines and stainless steel brake hoses; Baer Racing multi-piston front calipers and Corvette rear calipers, 13' coated slotted and drilled rotors up front, and standard sized rear rotors (also coated/slotted/drilled); Hydratech Hydro Boost brake package, Emergency/parking brake interface, Corvette LS engine mounts, Steel Fabricated Engine Mount Brackets, custom Newman Car Creations Differential with 3. 54:1 gears and limited slip ('Posi'). Powered by a strong 383 stroker V8 this Bel Air gets up into the powerband with ease. The motor has been paired up to a 700R transmission. With the added benefits of an aluminum radiator, and dual fans this car shouldn't have any issue staying cool on those longer trips. With dual exhaust, and ceramic coated headers, this cruiser has a nice rumble to it as well to intimidate those little V6 mustangs that pull up alongside you. 1956 marked the last year of the second generation of Bel Air-s. The 1956 Bel Air is among the most recognizable American cars of all time; well-maintained examples, especially Sport Coupes and Convertibles are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. They are roomy, with tastefully restrained, period use tail fins and chrome. This beautiful example is shown in a plum & white two-tone paint job that is in excellent condition. The car was repainted approx. 5 years ago, but the owner has taken such good car of the car it looks like it was completed last week. All of the exterior trim, emblems, chrome bumpers, & glass are all in superb condition as well. The car sits on the period correct width white wall tires & original Chevy hub caps. And yes, it is a true Bel Air. This Burgundy and White beauty is a very tastefully done Restomod & is ready for cruise night or a road trip out to the hill country. The majority of this build was completed in 2012 and has just 1635 miles both on the built 5. 7L 350 C. I. D. as well as the 700R4 transmission. The 350 has a Competition Cam 268 Extreme Energy cam, a Holley 670 CFM 'Street Avenger' carb, Edelbrock 'Performer EPS' aluminum intake, a MSD HEI distributor for maximum spark, Vintage air, an aluminum radiator & a set of 'Rams Horn' Corvette cast iron exhaust manifolds pushing it all out through the Flowmaster Super 40 Series dual exhaust. The 700R4 was also fitted with a shift kit when it was professionally installed and is held firm with the addition of a trans cross member & an isolator pad for even more support. The braking is sure with the addition of front disc braking and the replacement of all the brake lines (both hard & soft) while the Bel Air was being rebuilt, the entire front suspension was also redone in 2012, including a 3' lowering kit, new shocks,...
