With the first Maxwell being produced in the 1904, founders Jonathan Maxwell and Benjamin Briscoe took their own shot at revolutionizing the auto industry, but the Maxwell-Briscoe company was purchased by the Chrysler Motor Corporation in 1925, ending that dream. In fact, the 1926 Chryslers were essentially four-cylinder Maxwells from the prior year.
