1970 Datsun 240Z

View Description

Originally a California car before it was 'imported' to Texas, this 240Z now sports a lustrous, painstakingly executed medium gray metallic finish, with two very subtle metallic gray stripes that are a shade or two lighter than the main color. The stripes really add some pizazz to its look when the light is just right - otherwise, they blend in unobtrusively until just the right lighting is there, and then 'bang, there they are'! The real secret to this car is its drivetrain and suspension - under the skin is where the real excitement begins. but before we get to that, we'll build up the suspense a bit. Most of the work done on this restomod was performed by the wizards at SZR Pro and Awesome Z (both in the Houston, TX area). This 240 has been stripped to bare metal, and nearly completely disassembled to begin the restoration that happened prior to the modification. With almost 30 pages of receipts, detailing new nuts, bolts, fasteners, seals, weatherstrip, gaskets, jute, carpet, trim; well, you can just about name it - this car now looks and feels 'fresh from the factory', but it's way better! If something wasn't right or didn't work,...

1973 Datsun 240Z

View Description

Growing in both rarity and popularity, these cars are climbing the ladder to some of the most desirable import classic cars in the market. Built before the American transition between the name change of Datsun to what is now known as Nissan, these cars were a true symbol to the Japanese muscle car era. This was the newly designed body style donning the name 'Fairlady' in Japan, this was the first generation of the Z cars produced in the American Market. This original 2. 4L I-6 is backed up by a 4-speed manual transmission, to allow ultimate control. A lot of these cars in the overseas market during this era came standard with a manual since it was believed very strongly that the driver should maintain almost all control of the vehicle. The interior is lined in a beautiful leather seating to give you the best comfort available. The exterior of the car has been repainted its original Silver color. Take a ride...

1969 Datsun 2000

View Description

If you've ever wanted to buy a vintage club racer, this is the car for you. As it turns out, the second generation SPL311 series (the 'L' stands for left hand drive) was the car that Paul Newman (yes, that guy) started his racing career in. An accomplished racer, he had a long-term relationship with Datsun (Nissan), which started with the 2000. The Fairlady, as it was known in Japan, had a strong 2. 0L engine (1982cc), with twin Mikuni/Solex carbs and a special 'B' model camshaft (when ordered with the competition package). This Datsun 2000 roadster has the 'B' camshaft. After undergoing a body off restoration, during which the frame and body were stripped to bare metal prior to painting, the original U20 engine (iron block, aluminum OHC head) was rebuilt completely. Sporting a. 030' overbore, it is equipped with JE pistons, new Nissan valves, new crankshaft and jackshaft bearings, new 'B' camshaft, new water pump, timing chain, gears, and tensioners. The distributor was rebuilt, and the ignition sports a new PerTronix electronic pickup coil. The original Solex PP44 carburetors were completely rebuilt during the engine rehab as well. The servo transmission was completely rebuilt with all new synchros and...

1977 Datsun 280Z

View Description

The 280Z 2+2 is pretty much a 260Z with a slightly bigger engine, and a longer wheelbase to allow the addition of the 2 rear seats. This 280Z 2+2 has been touched up with a little modern spice to make the car more of a luxury to drive. The biggest and most important addition to this classic would be the addition of the air conditioning unit compressor. When having the A/C installed, the owner also had the 4-speed manual transmission rebuilt; which the owner claims has less than 5,000 miles on it currently. When doing the mechanical maintenance, the owner decided to spruce a few things up in the aesthetics department. Having the car repainted in its original color was the first step. Next the owner had the windows tinted and added new vinyl front seats to the vehicle....

1969 Datsun 2000

View Description

The Datsun Sports (called Datsun Fairlady in the Japanese and Australian markets), was a series of roadsters produced by Nissan in the 1960s. The series was a predecessor to the Z-car in the Fairlady line, and offered an competitor to the European MG, Triumph, Fiat and Alfa Romeo sports cars. The line began with the 1959 'S211' and continued through 1970 with the 'SP311' and 'SR311' line.

The Fairlady saw competitors follow its introduction, with examples called the Honda S500, the Toyota Sports 800, and the Daihatsu Compagno. In Japan, it represented one of three core products offered by Nissan at Japanese Nissan Dealerships called Nissan Shop, alongside the Datsun Truck and the Datsun 1000. The Datsun SRL 2000 was the 2 seat roadster that made their name. Paul Newman started his racing career in one. It had a potent 1982cc overhead cam engine with dual SU type side draft carbs and a 5 speed transmission. In 1991, Nissan introduced a limited number two-door convertible styled in a retro appearance to the Datsun Sports called the Nissan Figaro.

The introduction of the 1967 SR311 and SRL311 saw a major update. Produced from March 1967 -' 1970, the SR311 used a 2....
