1970 Dodge Charger

View Description

This vehicle commands attention with its striking black exterior, matched by a sleek black interior, offering a seamlessly stylish and sophisticated look. At the heart of this beast lies a powerful 440 CID V8 engine, which is topped by a big Edelbrock 4BBL carb. Bumbera's Performance handled the rebuild of the 440, as well as the installation of the McLeod clutch kit and the custom fabbed dual exhaust, so this beast has plenty of life left in it. Twist the ignition, and you'll bringing this vehicle to life with an unmatchable roar. A massive aluminum radiator keeps the big mill cooled, and the coated headers both look cool, and help scavenge the exhaust into the dual setup better than iron manifolds. The 4-speed manual transmission gives you full control to unleash the Charger's ultimate power and performance. Experience cool comfort all year round with the integrated air conditioning system, ensuring a pleasing environment during your drive. Setting the pace for your journey, the AM/FM/CD radio provides a wide range of audio entertainment options, while the custom electronic dash accurately provides the driver key information throughout the trip. This high-gloss black beast features a pearl purple enhancement that just needs to be seen in the sunlight to be fully appreciated - it's quite impressive! This bad boy is sporting a lot of hidden upgrades, too, and it comes with a gigantic binder full of receipts, articles, specs, and manuals for custom parts (such as the Dakota Digital VHX dash). It also has copies of the broadcast sheet, as well. this is no 'tribute' Charger! Under the hood is a 383 CID Stroker V8, built along the lines of the 'Millennium Wedge', featured in a Car Craft Magazine article in March 2005. It's topped off by a 'Kenny Carb' (tuned by Bumbera's Performance), a Mopar aluminum high-rise intake which has been port matched to the aluminum Edelbrock heads (ported and polished), has been bored and stroked, and uses BB Chevy truck rods to achieve its 441 CID displacement. The valvetrain is actuated by a roller bumpstick, and roller rockers. According to the dyno sheets from Bitner Automotive, this big wedge put out a peak of 518HP and 505. 7 Lb/Ft torque at 5395 RPM! The massive mill was intended to be capable of being capable of being daily driven, as...

The pictures hardly do it justice, as this car has had over $150K in restoration work done on it during a total restoration, completed just 18 months ago. Every nut, bolt, and screw has been paid attention to, and every piece has been detailed to perfection. Everything works, including the original clock!

It started out life with a 383 CID V8 car but now this RT is equipped with the venerable 440 CID Big Block Wedge V8, with a serious cam upgrade. If you like the sound of a big bumpstick's lopey idle, this one will put you in heaven. With only 850 miles on the powertrain since the engine and TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission were rebuilt, it's only just getting broken in. All of the resto work was completed by Hot Rod Joe's in Lafayette, LA, including the powertrain rebuild. There is NO rust on this car, and it has a brand new trunk pan and rear quarter panels. This beast is bathed in an eye-catching red paint job that's so deep you'd think you could dive in and swim in this 'red sea'. Combine that with the white bumblebee stripes around its tail, and it will get you stares...

Covered in its factory bright blue poly color, the whole idea behind this restoration was 'keep it numbers matching but give it the power it should have had'. Bumbera's Performance was tapped to handle the drivetrain restoration, and they did a super job. Starting with the original numbers-matching 440 CID V8 block and 727 TorqueFlite transmission, the powertrain was thoroughly redone and enhanced to give it the tire-smoking gutsiness that this beast was expected to deliver when one thinks of any Dodge 440-powered car! New heads were installed, but the block and innards were thoroughly inspected and reworked to provide serious power to the wheels. The 727 TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission also received the same attention to detail, receiving a complete rebuild and newer, stronger components. All told, the rebuilt drive train has only about 500 miles on it, so you've got plenty of life to look forward to! In addition, the brakes and steering were enhanced with new hoses and reservoirs, and the pump was refurbished. A set of 18' Boss Motorsports aluminum wheels with black centers and polished aluminum lips give a more modern look and subtract weight from the factory steel wheels. Nitto 555 performance radials (245/45/ZR18 up...

View Description

Since its current owner purchased it almost a decade ago, he has turned it from being an occasional use 'fun classic car' into one that is capable of being used regularly. Its owner's plan for the upgrade project was to make it as close as possible to original; but make it better in ways that didn't scream 'not original'. many (if not most) of the exterior badging and trim has been replaced with correct Mopar items, as well as the manufacturer decals (jacking instructions/emissions control/tire pressure/air cleaner/refrigerant/antifreeze/and air temp decals are all NOS items). In addition, the already potent (AND original) 340 CID V8 has been completely rebuilt, and now features 1969 340 'J' heads (closed chamber, for 10. 5:1 compression), the block has been completely Machined and reworked with new pistons, crank, cam, and valvetrain. It has a new Edelbrock fuel pump, oil pump, and a windage tray inside its new oil pan. The valve covers are also new, and it has a new Edelbrock carb. Other new under-hood parts include timing chain cover, Powermaster starter, Powermaster 85 amp alternator, Summit Racing electronic distributor, engine wiring harness, front light wiring harness, dual prong ballast resistor terminal, Mopar vintage logo reproduction...
