1952 Hudson Hornet

View Description

Once you lay eyes on this car it's hard to focus on just one detail, the more you look, the more that jumps out at you. When people claim a car is a work of art, this model comes to mind instantly. The two-tone Cream and Metallic Brown exterior goes together like Sonny and Cher in their heyday while the Brown and Tan interior meshes so very well with the chrome and decorative wood accents. Open the hood and it is no surprise to find more details from the Twin H Power advertisement for the dual one barrel carburetors sitting on top of the 265 cubic inch inline six cylinder engine. A 3 speed Hydromatic auto transmission does not have a park gear. Rather you start it in neutral and engage the parking brake should you park on an incline or decline. Features and Options include an AM Radio, Cloth Interior, Hub Caps, Radial Wide White Wall Tires and Seatbelts. This is still a 6 Volt positive ground electrical system and recent work includes a new gas gauge sending unit, new...

1953 Hudson Hornet

View Description

Under the hood sits an inline-6 cylinder engine displacing 308 cubic inches paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle was brought to the midwest from Arizona roughly 5 years ago. Although it still possesses the classic styling from a Hudson, a number of changes have been made to improve the drivability of this classic. An electric fuel pump was added to eliminate hard starts, LED reverse lights were wired, as well as a backup camera, and a second battery was fitted to help operate the additional equipment. The Hornet was a huge step forward in automobiles, as...

1951 Hudson Hornet

View Description

If you have children and have ever seen the 'Cars' movie then you will recognize this car instantly.

All Hornets from 1951 to 1953 were powered by Hudson's high-compression straight six 'H-145' engine. In 1954, power was increased to 170 HP from 140 HP. Starting in 1952 an optional 'twin-H' or twin one-barrel Carburetor setup was available at an additional cost. An L head (flathead or side valve) design, at 308 cu inch (5. 0L) it was the 'largest displacement six-cylinder engine in the world' at that time. It had a two-barrel carburetor and produced 145 HP at 3800 RPM and 275 LB of torque. The engine was capable of far more power in the hands of precision tuners, including Marshall Teague, who claimed he could get 112 miles per hour from an AAA or Nascar certified stock Hornet, as well as Hudson engineers who developed 'severe usage' options (thinly disguised racing parts). The combination of the Hudson engine and overall road-ability of the dirt and the very few paved tracks of the 1950s. The newly introduced 'Twin H-power' was available in November 1951 as a dealer installed option at the cost of $85. 60. An electric clock was standard. The...
