Toyota started production of the Land Cruiser FJ40 in 1960 and began importing them to the US in 1963. The last US bound FJ rolled off the line in 1983, making a brief comeback as a modern SUV in the US called the FJ Cruiser from 2006 to 2014. From 1963 to 1983 the FJ40 saw little change aesthetically, the only real changes were improvements in technology mechanically. The Classic FJs are as comfortable on a trail as they are on the highway because they were designed to do anything you could ever ask it to do and do it well.
The FJ40 is a rugged, two-door, 4x4 vehicle with amazing off-road capabilities, and rather primitive interior treatments. This unit sports a soft top so open-air cruising is a possibility. FJs came without carpet and with vinyl upholstery, so even if you're out in the mud and in the elements, they're easy to keep clean. This is a truck you can literally just hose out.
