The Kaiser Jeep line remained in production until about 1969, when American Motors Corporation bought Kaiser in 1970. After AMC's acquisition, the Jeepster Commando steadily grew in popularity and sales numbers went through the rood compared to its competitors. The 1971 Hurst Jeepster built with modifications by Hurst Performance is possibly the scarcest model of all production Jeeps.
