View Description
This beautiful all-metal custom Merc went through a frame-off restoration and is powered by a Chevrolet 350 CID V8 that's backed by a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission. The 700R4 is controlled by the ubiquitous Lokar shifter, which adds a nice hot rod touch, and the drivetrain has just a little over 2000 miles on it. The 350 is topped by an aluminum intake with a Holley 4BBL carb with its snorkel scoop, and she runs smooth and strong. Twin Flex-a-Lite electric fans assist the aluminum flex fan in keeping operating temps in the 'good' range in all kinds of driving conditions. A Mallory Unilite electronic ignition distributor and coil supply the spark, and the spent fossils are evacuated by coated cast iron manifolds into a true dual exhaust. The cast iron manifolds help keep things muffled enough so that you can hear your tunes, and the dual exhaust has just enough of that muscle sound to keep you entertained when you're not listening to Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen belt out 'Hot Rod Lincoln' through the four 2-way speakers that are powered by the Blaupunkt Lexington AM/FM/Cassette player.
