As GM engineers were examining the 1LE-s shortfalls on the track they continued to improve year by year. The 1LE featured unique front brakes which borrowed the large 12 inch front rotors from the Caprice and utilized a caliper manufactured by PBR in Australia which was also used on the corvette but with modifications to the Camaro spindle was adapted to fit. The Camaro 1LE was not a standard production car and was an option that could only be ordered, very few were ordered and subsequently produced each year. The 1995 model year marked the 8th year the 1LE option was available and only 106 of these were produced.
