This 1951 Rambler has multiple awards including 2003 Pro's Pick winner at Goodguys Indianapolis, chosen by Boyd Coddington himself (documented). Brilliantly finished in Dupont branded -Boyd Red-. Powering this very cool wagon is a ZZ3 350 V8 producing 345 hp with a 350 turbo transmission. This Rambler sits on a custom Art Morrison chassis. The interior was done by Mike Crispen with custom Dakota Digital gauges, custom stereo, custom Twisted Matrix steering wheel, and Vintage Air. There were several indications that the 1967 AMC Rambler Rogue was a muscle car, but the model remained mostly unknown in the performance arena. On paper it had impressive credentials: a two-door hardtop that weighed less than 3,000 pounds and was powered by a (-67-only) 343ci, 280-horse powerplant. Behind the V-8 was a BorgWarner close-ratio T10 four-speed and a Dana 20 rearend with 3. 54 gears and a Track-Loc. The 65 Marlin was first an attempt to eat into the Fastback Mustangs market share. They were quick to finds that was a lofty goal and was remarketed as a personal luxury car with its very nice and clean sophisticated interior. After one year the Rambler name was dropped and the AMC moniker was added making these 65's sought after in today's collector car market. The very distinct fastback design is all to itself being the most dramatic coke bottle shape of all fastback branded cars. The Seaside Aqua paint really looks amazing and the Frost White accents exaggerate the fastback shape. The interior on the car is in great condition with the blue vinyl and blue cloth being in amazing condition. Under the hood is the original 287 CI V8 with 150,143 actual miles. It was rebuilt in 2005 and only about 20k miles ago. The 3 speed automatic feels as it should with positive shifts going up and a distinct feel when giving it gas and it is dropping a gear.
