1962 Renault Dauphine

In the 1950s, European auto manufacturers were well into their rebound from WWII and were building many different, innovative and stylish cars. The 1956 the Renault Dauphine was a compact car built to compete with other European compacts like the Beetle and Mini. Unlike much of it's competition the Dauphine had quite elegant styling thanks to styling from Italian design house Carrozzeria Ghia. The curvy sheet metal is draped over the vehicle in such a way that it maintains its style without sacrificing practicality. This 1962 example is quite a sharp looker with it's pale blue paint and chrome trim pieces. The interior is more spacious than one might think and has nice upgrades like modern front bucket seats and a modern rear bench seat upholstered in cloth.
